Short Program:  Student of the Month Ecole Willow Point. Principal Nancy Hwang. SOM is Gabriela Figueroa, grade 5. Her guests are parents Marlo and Alberto Figueroa. The family requested 2 grandparents attend, Ed and Fay Figueroa, and funds are available in the annual SOM budget due to no cost associated with the May 6 Sayward off site recognition event.  The  request was approved by Director of Youth Karen Johnstone. The Figueroa party will be 6 guests. Teacher is Melissa Johnstone. We require a vegan meal for Melissa Johnstone. 

Long Program: Ryan Stuart to come speak about healthy habits and the cookbook he created with his wife Josie

Ryan Stuart and his wife Josie Boulding recently self-published a cookbook and are looking forward to come to our club to speak about it. They live in the Comox Valley, Josie grew up in Campbell River and their book is inspired by their west coast life. It’s called HABIT: 6 Bases, 29 Recipes and a New Way of Cooking. More than a collection of recipes, it’s a meal prep strategy designed to make eating healthy, from scratch meals easier, faster and more fun.

Communitas creates community for people of all abilities so that everyone can belong, grow, and make the contribution they want to make. To that end, they facilitate home living, community support, employment, social enterprise, and respite for people lving with disabilities in Metro Vancouver, the Frasery Valley, and Vancouver Island.

Long Program: Lucas Schuller (Artist and Executive Director) of Hwy 19A Concerts Society to come and speak about their organization which publicizes live music events in a calendar each week in the CR Arts Council round up newsletter, coordinates the Spirit Square lunches through summer, as well as Live Streets and other community events.

Short Program: Shelagh Germyne of Women for Women will come and speak about their big annual run/walk fundraiser in September. 

Long Program: Audrey Wilson, Executive Director of Laichwiltach Family Life Society to provide an update on their organizatio that provides holistic services (cultural, mental, emtional, spiritual, physical) to Aboriginal people and families in the Campbell River region and surrounding area and Comox Valley.

Long Program: Laurel Sliskovic the "Sociable Scientist" is an eductator and yoga teacher who researches, teach, facilitates, promotes and shares knowledge within sustainability in leisure, tourism, and recreation. She will be speaking on her recent project inspired by the book "Infectious Generosity" by Chris Anderson. She has coordinated 30 community members in Campbell River to read this book over the summer, and created small groups to discuss and share together, in the end goal of making an even better Campbell River. She also is starting her yoga in the summer, with Tuesdays at 5:30 being free yoga at Ostler Park.
