Short Program: Confirmed April Student of the Month Ocean Grove School. Long Program: Interact Program Update by 6 or 7 Students on what training they were involved in and training that they plan to take in the future, why they became involved in the Rotary Interact Program and their goals for the future. The students have a question for all Noon Rotary Members.: How can the Interact Club better serve the community.? For example, should the Interact Club partner with Noon Rotary on projects and events to reach out to a wider range. of the population than either Group could reach on their own? |

Short Program:
Long Program: Darrell McKay, will be speaking on his Ukranian and humanitarian efforts. Bio: For the last 10 years Darrel has been traveling to remote places helping NGO’s (private not-for-profit organization) by using his photography skills and ability to travel to rough places. One organization he has really enjoyed volunteering for is SEVA (restores sight and prevents blindness in low to middle income countries) where he traveled to Ethiopia and Benin to document the eye care they provide to less fortunate. Over the last 2 years has spent 160 days, over five different trips, in Ukraine and Poland helping with the war effort as a humanitarian. Darell has raised $42,000 dollars for the Ukrainian people as well as delivering 535 stretchers to the front line as well as thousands of dollars in medical supplies. Working with Ukrainian Patriot he provided medical supplies and goods to the front line, helping civilians, soldiers and animals. He hopes to present to our Rotary club to make them aware of the situation and how we can help. |

You are invited to join both Rotary clubs for our annual Broom Bash on May 25th, from 9 am to 11 am at McIvor Lake. We will meet at the McIvor Lake Boat Launch and spread out and remove broom in the area. Please bring gloves, hat, and be prepared to cut broom. Pruning shears will be available, if you are able bring your own that would be appreciated. |

Long Program: Charles Roberts, CEO of LiveDifferent Joint meeting with Daybreak Club joining us. Our speaker will be Charles Roberts, CEO of LiveDifferent, with introduction from breakfast club member Diana Gardener. Diana has recently returned from a house building project in Mexico with this organization and has said it’s an amazing experience. Their goal is to empower the world to care about people. This organization is undertakes various initiatives across the world in mental wellness, humanitarian builds, studying abroad, and compassion projects. This partnership is being led by Parksville Rotary club. Looking forward to this session! |

Long Program: Offsite visit to Carihi High School
Monthly Theme: Basic Education and Literacy Month Organized by: Tara Jordan & Myriah Foort Our meeting this week will be offsite at Carihi high school to celebrate September theme of the month, Basic Eduction and Literacy Month. Please meet in the main parking lot at 11:15am, and we will walk in together to Library, where we will host an open session with students involved or interested to hear more about Interact and Rotary. Lunch hour for the school is 11:25am to 11:55am. Once the students head off back to class, librarian Dionne Lapointe-Bakota where speak to literacy programs and focus at the school. And we hope to end with a small tour of the school with our meeting ending around 12:30pm.
